Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD
Enjoy an upgrade in all-wheel-drive performance. Available Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive (TV-AWD) improves responsiveness and stability by sending up to 50 percent of the power to the rear and then further distributing more power to the wheel that needs it.
Towing Capacity
The epitome of power and smoothness. Highlander’s 2.4-liter turbo engine flexes some muscle with its up to 5000-lb. towing capacity.
Multi-Terrain Select
Offering you more capability when the pavement ends, Highlander features Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) on All-Wheel Drive (AWD) models. Choose between four modes (Mud & Sand, Rock & Dirt, Snow and Normal) for enhanced traction. When activated, the system is designed to sense slippage and regulate wheelspin—helping to maximize driving performance on different surfaces.

Lane Departure Alert With Steering Assist
When white/yellow lane markings or certain road-edge boundary lines are detected at speeds above 32 mph, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA) is designed to issue an audio/visual lane departure warning if an inadvertent lane departure is detected. If the driver does not take corrective action, the system is also designed to provide gentle corrective steering for lane-keeping assistance.
Lane Tracing Assist
When Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) is enabled and lane markers are detected, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) uses the lines on the road and/or preceding vehicles to provide active driving assistance and help keep the vehicle centered in its lane.
Road Sign Assist
Using an intelligent camera, Road Sign Assist (RSA) is designed to detect speed limit signs, stop signs, Do Not Enter signs and yield signs, and display an icon of the sign on the Multi-Information Display (MID).
Automatic High Beams
Automatic High Beams (AHB) are designed to help you see more clearly at night. At speeds above 21 mph, the AHB system is designed to detect the headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of preceding vehicles, then automatically toggle between high and low beams accordingly.

The available Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) is designed to warn you when a vehicle is in Highlander’s blind spot on either side. When Highlander is placed in reverse, available Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) is designed to detect certain vehicles approaching from either side. If the system senses cross traffic, it is designed to warn you with side mirror indicators and a warning tone.
Front and Rear Parking Assist With Automatic Braking
Available Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking (PA w/AB) has audible and visual warnings, and in certain conditions may automatically apply the brakes when there is a possibility of contact with a stationary object or vehicle. Simulation shown.
